Volleyball

I didn't see a Volleyball forum in the "sports" section and I know of a lot of people who play who might want it so I just made a new topic...
Question Starters-->

How much time do you work out for volleyball at home/ in the gym?
Are you excited about this year, why or why not?
What do you think is themost important position on the court?

If you think of a good question go ahead and post it!!

Working out is kind of hard for me because I'm moving around alot this summer but a good workout that you can do anywhere is the PLYOMETRICS workout.
It consists of a lot of lower and upper body skill.
For Lower you can--
Squat Jumps
Bunny Hops
Zig-Zag Jumps
and more
For Upper you can--
Push Ups
Curl Ups(5 pound weights)
Military Press( 5 pound weights)
Other Things you can do--
Hitting Footing Practice
Blocking Footing Practice
Lundges

There are many more but I useally do these.

Moved To Volleyball Section due to the addition of volleyball section.

I think they are equally difficult. With volleyball its more of your form and presition. With football its strenght and speed. With both you have to use your head and you have to have lots and lots of practice. It also depends on the person who playings' view.

For me volleyball would be harder because there is the idea of hitting the floor. Floors don't move...people however are a lot easier to move.

I think volleyball is hard because everything has to be so precise. you have to cup you hand a certain way, throw it a serant way, angle your body, footwork(stepping a certain way with certain feet for different things you do) you have to be stroung and fast, on your toes loud, you have to no the plays and also how to inprovize... its defentatly a hard sport.

I agree..I think they are very different in all different ways. But I really think volleyball is maybe a bit harder, just because you have to have perfect form. Of course, football you get hit at or whatever but volleyball-like you all said-you have to be able to not be afraid to dive and hit the floor. Plus there is tons of different things you have to master, like correct form of feet and hands..then correct posture for serving, approach for hitting, soft hands for setting, and so on. And you not only have to think ahead of what your team is going to do, and were you are going to place the ball..but expect what you think the other team will put the ball and be fast enough to be able to get it.
I pretty much could go on and on for this topic-it's my life-but I will stop there for now.
What do you guys think?

Again, I agree with both sides of the arguement. Football is contact sport where you have to have endurence, strenght and also play "Smart". But Volleyball you have to be quick, prescice and also always be thinking about the next move. They are two different sports that are very hard to judge.

Well There are many. BAsically its useless to comepare them because its like asking witch color is the best. There's no point because there are just too many variables to consider.

well not for football. the quarterback is easily the most important person. they run everything on the feild. they make the things happen. they are the leaders for the team. the feild general

ya but the lineman couldnt score. but the one posistion that you cant live without is the quarter back. and lineman are amazingly hard to come by. and they are important.

I agree, that you need a team to play with but the Quarterback Is the one that has the most to think about.

ya but you need everyone. and ya the quarterback gets all the fame and all the blame. its not even a joke.
